Term 4 Classes & Workshops

Dave is away in France teaching now until late September – then he’ll be back for a gig with Liz Frencham at the Merry Muse on 28th September.

In the meanwhile – here’s a little bit of information on the classes and workshops that Dave will be offering in Term 4.

10 Tunes in 10 Weeks – starting Monday 14 October

A course aimed at advanced beginners or intermediate melody players who want to practice learning by ear and building a common repertoire.  You will need to know your way around your instrument and know G and D scales and arpeggios.

Dave will teach phrase by phrase a tune a week (with revision of past tunes)….starting them slowly and building them up to moderate session speed.

Location: 71 Kent St, Deakin  from 7.30 to 9.00 pm

Improvisation & Solos (10 weeks) – starting Tuesday 15 October

A course aimed at advancing intermediate players who are looking to be able to improvise and take solo lead breaks.

Location: 71 Kent St, Deakin from 7.30 to 9.00 pm

Intro to Atkins Style Guitar – Saturday Workshop – 23 November, 2.00 to 4.3o pm

A Saturday afternoon intermediate guitar workshop exploring Atkins style guitar with afternoon tea.

Irish Fiddle –  Saturday Workshop – 30 November, 2.00 to 4.3o pm

An advanced beginner/intermediate fiddle workshop on playing Irish fiddle, with afternoon tea from 2.00 to 4.30 pm.

Blues & Bluegrass Mandolin –  Saturday Workshop – 7 December, 2.00 to 4.3o pm

An intermediate mandolin workshop on both blues and bluegrass mandolin styles.
